Working with survivors of domestic and sexual assault violence can be a difficult assignment for interpreters. While sessions for sexual assault appointments usually require female interpreters, it is important that male interpreters also understand this often emotional and challenging setting. Baljit will share how the programs at BC Women’s Hospital work, what the goals are for the health care professionals and interdisciplinary team members, and how interpreters can facilitate communication in these settings.
